Matthew Thompson was born in San Diego, California.

He’s written & directed feature films for major studios, documentaries spanning 5 continents, television series’ for Academy Award-winning production companies, nationally broadcasted branded content for billion-dollar brands, music videos for A-list artists, award-winning short films, and internationally-acclaimed virtual reality experiences.

His films have screened at the United Nations, and have helped change global conversation on topics such as Food Systems and Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP/UFO). For two years, he traveled the world with rockstars, special agents and scientists uncovering secretive UFO stories that helped bring the topic from a fringe-subject to a mainstream media issue. He is also a published author, the co-founder of The Matts Productions, and founder of Moon Tree Studios.
